We are giving the spotlight to one of Calgary's oldest neighbourhoods this week. This area has it all - unique homes, boutique shops, breweries, and restaurants that specialize in different cuisines. Renzo Real Estate is proud to call this neighbourhood home. I have been a part of the Renzo Crew for some time now and I cannot think of a better location for our office. The community has both rustic, 20th-century aesthetics and modern, contemporary designs. Put the two together and you get a trendy district with much to offer all year long. Let's give a big round of applause to Calgary's very own INGLEWOOD.
Inglewood was established in 1875 - like I said, it is one of Calgary's oldest neighbourhoods. It is located along the Bow River with parks and pathways for everyone to enjoy nature. It has become home to a few nature reserves that have become popular across Calgary. The precious Inglewood Bird Sanctuary is a hot spot for birdwatchers and people looking to learn about the natural environment in the city. Inglewood Wildlands is making a slow & steady recovery from an industrially contaminated site to a natural wildland reserve. Sam Livingston Fish Hatchery is part of Alberta's fish stocking program; it's a great spot to bring the kiddos so they can learn about local species. Bonus: you can feed the fish!
It is super easy to get here because 9th Avenue runs right through the community with cute shops and restaurants on either side of the road. This is actually the first "main street" in the city. It definitely kept its charm over the years. Inglewood has gone through some revitalization while keeping a rustic, industrial ambience. It is a hub for art and culture to maintain its roots while welcoming a diverse lineup of businesses and residents.
With all that it has to offer, it is a desired community for both commercial and residential real estate. With the exception of apartments, all property types have less than 4 months of supply. This means they are seeing a sellers market in Inglewood! Apartments like many communities are lagging behind in sales activity but that means buyers have more inventory to choose from.
